Finally, the bomb has exploded in the manner that would bring the best impact. A remote controlled explosion of a “home-made” bomb, in the most frequented spot of the country, which caused more than seven tourists to be hospitalized.
The explosion occured right in front of the watchful “eyes” of the security cameras of the Maldives National Defense Forces (MNDF) in front of the Sultan Park. But I guess the footage will be lost somehow and there will not be evidence to seek out the culprits.
Beside the Islamic Centre which is also almost in front of the Sultan Park, people were saying that Dhiraagu will know, to whom the sim card of the mobile phone which was used to explode the bomb belonged to.
It was very interesting to see the concern on the faces of many people there: it was a situation we dug ourselves into. Unfortunately we cannot see further than the tip of our noses; in our excitement.

We should deal firmly with all forms of terror and call for decisive action to be taken to root out terror from our society.Shahuru- what do you mean when you say, we should rethink about bringing in tourism into local societies and whether it could be a type of extremism in economic form? Why should tourists visiting local communities become a cause of terror?

I think we have all seen this coming…us onto the terrorist map!I think we have all seen this coming…us onto the terrorist map!Can we accept that extremism of all forms should be dealt with; religious and political.Should we not re-think about bringing in tourism into local societies? Could that be a type of extremism in economic form?Could we perhaps overwhelm the societies? We are all bothered – lets see how we deal with this – for short term and long term….a sad morning to wake up to!

It is clear that this is a Jewish plot to destabilize the beacon of Islam in the Indian Ocean.
