This evening I learned that fresh police reinforcements have been sent to Addu to manage the escalation of fighting and violence between the communities of Maradhoo and Feydhoo and the terrorising of Addu which has brought almost everything to a standstill there. Property and human lives were no longer safe in Addu; nor are they anywhere else in paradise. We have to take pride in being a part of this nation.
Nation? I cannot help wonder what we call a nation anymore. A state that has no purpose in itself. A state that has no protection of itself, is incapable of protecting its people and their property. A state without effective government, let alone good governance.
The police are to blame for it all. They are compelled to “battle” multiple fronts created by neglect and the zeal of the monstrous politicians and a phantom unknown yet all-powerful. The motivation for a cessation of this nation seem to be greater than the good of the people.
And it is believed that there are over 5000 elites who have sworn to defend and protect this nation in return for a luxurious life behind barracks. Who have unlimited resources and world class training. They do not see a need to intervene to bring law and order to the land. As if the “golden goose” which is worth hundreds of millions of US Dollars will continue to bring riches to paradise.
The defense of this nation: is it not it’s economic well-being? That is why America is fightign a war, world wide.
The MNDF is said to be incapable of intervening because there is this “divine” law that determine that they are the military and cannot engage in the civil matters. Wow! How important law is when it comes to letting the people to rot in hell.
We seem to think that Allah will take care of us; anyhow. That the investments would keep coming, and the tourist dollar would continue to flow, to a land controlled by gangsters and renegades.
And just like Yousay’s “dhiriulhumakee meebaa” program which finished a while ago; it is the person who is seen stealing and destroying property that is perceived to be the culprit. But what about those others who are robbing this nation of all its wealth, and it’s very existence.
Who is this phantom? What is the motive? For whom?

the police cannot interferer because the thug are hurting them. the army cannot interfere because its against the law, the government cant say anything because they might face backlash, the people cant use force to stop the violence because of the human rights.
