People, Leaders and Development: a False Perspective!

23 Oct

Someone who has no sense of people and prosperity; can he be a leader – let alone a good leader! After all, common sense is what gives one, a sense of people; and prosperity is a function of humanity.

Those who claim positions of leadership amongst us, don’t seem to have a sense of the people nor their desires for development. Development is an improvement in the condition of the people; not their masters.

Yet, it is so fascinating how our masters have come to convine people that development is improving the condition of leaders and masters.

No wonder so many development projects for the “islands” have not materialized after years of envisioning and planning; yet projects like Hulhumaale, Thilafushi and Gulheefalhu are realized within months of the initial thought!
