Children entertain School Heads close to midnight!

06 Apr

Tonight, the Heads of School Conference was inaugurated for 275 heads of schools in this country of 300,000 people of which over 50% are said to be school going children. What struck me most was that all these educational leaders and their leadership including the Minister of Education, who is a technocrat though in a politician’s chair; sat with the President of the country; to entertain themselves with a dance performance from ten year olds.

I can understand that some of the readers may ask what is wrong with that. Yet, when it is half an hour to midnight that the dance was performed; I am sure you will agree that it was really not necessary. Does the Heads of School Conference need an opening ceremony coming to a close with a ritual involving school children having to entertain the school heads? Is it necessary to further the purpose of education and schooling?

As a senior government official charged with children’s rights put it, “Inconsistency in practicing what elders preach has led to children not taking elders seriously. It’s so wrong to violate school rules by school heads and the Ministry of Education.”

Yet, that is the case!

The President of Maldives Maumoon Abdul Gayoom consistently ignores child abuse in Maldives and shows leniency towards offenders and abusers. http://maldivestoday.com/archives/144The party that he founded has many paedophiles and molesters.http://maldivestoday.com/archives/149He takes pleasure in watching dances of cross-dressed people as evident from a video posted in DO showing cross-dressed Star Force members entertaining Gayoom.

This sickening President’s Office had harbored an Egypt-educated paedophile for over 15 years. This regime has a special perverted fondness for small children. Im sickened. For the last 30 years sycophants of this regime have led small children to dress indecently and perform perverse dances in front of elderly perverts.

I am with you one hundred per cent. With or without consent from parents, schools having young children to entertain the president on an ongoing basis is very weird and saddening. A president must find his own ways of entertaining. May it be through hiring professional performers or by him visiting a performance that is palatable, is definitely a lot better than coercing parents to fund dance costumes when parents are poorly paid and using young school children. Also Scooping out educational hours for dance practice or causing inconvenience of moving children between school and home in the after-school-hours cannot be compensated or treated any less important. Using young school children for dances to boost the presidents ego as it is done today is a pure mockery on parents and the public alike and it must STOP.
