A Parliament in Shambles looking for a Miracle and an Excuse

19 Nov

The first woman Attorney General of the Maldives will face a no confidence vote in parliament before the end of the year, brought to the parliament floor by a bipartisan caucus allegedly angered by her representation in the Special Majlis entrusted with drafting a new constitution for a presidential form of democracy.

The failed Special Majlis has been looking for emotionally charged “tactics” to shift blame for the lack of a focus on its mandate and total negligence of its duties to the People. A November 30th deadline set by itself for the Special Majlis to finalize the constitution will not be met, unless someone is able to work a miracle.

Miracles have saved this nation from turmoil on the infamous November 3rd, the August 13th “kaarisaa” of 2004 and many more. God has bestowed His Blessings upon the people of this country whose political leadership claim it to be a hundred percent subservient to Him. We shall await the next miracle!

Thoughts expressed by me on my blog are my own and do not reflect those of my employer or my family or any other party I am associated with unless otherwise specifically stated. I refrain from making comments to comments to my posts, to show respect to those who comment on my blog. Yet, I am compelled to make the above clarification as I have a feeling that a particular “anonymous” commentator to the blog do not feel that I have an intellect of my own. I respect all the naked truth and lies to attack my personality or character. Yet it is hard for me to understand why others may have to be ridiculed for my intellect.

God, then, has either taken back his blessings or generally been a bit slacking with miracles. Afterall, the country is pretty messed up in almost every sphere.. isn’t it?
