Haveeru has reported that another man who sexually abused young children has been caught by the Maldives Police Service. He is reported to have in his possession, a photograph of a young boy who was sexually abused by Paedophile Fazeel.
The man, Iqbal Mohamed Hussain of Shaviyani Maroshi, was caught by the police after breaking into a room where he was having sex with a Bangladheshi 18 year old, in Male’ Wednesday night. Iqbal is said to have several photos of boys who maybe a part of a sex-ring he may have set up. Police also reported that he had several CDs and documents related to the paedophile ring in his possession.
Iqbal of Maroshi, was first detained by Police in 2007 for alleged sexual abuse of boys. At the the time he was an island chief of Maroshi. Currently he is the administrative officer of Galolhu Avashu Office, according to Haveeru.
CAWM Note: Police recently refused to disclose the name of the person who raped and paralyzed a six year old girl. We dont know the reasons for this protection of identities of some people, inconsistent with Police reporting of child abuse cases, in relation to some cases.

This world was a dark place, having forgotten or distorted previous prophets’ teachings, before Prophet Muhammad Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam brought the light. He brought back the message of Tauheed, universal brotherhood, compassion, mercy, equality, justice, God consciousness, and morality. As Muslims turned away from Islam, the darkness started to increase again, dividing it into first, second, and third worlds. There is lot of arrogance and ignorance in these ranks. But, Islam again illuminates the way. The solution is there, if only we look in the right direction. Islam is the solution.Where else but in a Muslim country (Saudi Arabia) one can find jewelry stores without armed guards, closed doors, and elaborate security systems?

@ freethinker: mudhim of baa goidhoo got immunity not because of Islam, not because he is an “Imam”. I was immune just because of corrupt Government. Islamic Sharia is not followed in this country. What that mudhim did does not represent Islam. He is a criminal. He is a criminal. If Islamic Law is followed here, he CAN NOT roam freely like that.

this was what i meant. who’s talking abt fazeel now??who’s following up on the case now?Newspapers is not bringing up any updates and no one is noticing that there is no developmetn on the Fazeel case. When it comes to child abuse there’s just total apathy and short term memories

the so called members majlis is also involved in this cases..cuz they dont have a strick law passed for these paedophiles… they just talks there and go home with the salary…. I wonder why they cant pass a capital punishment for these paedophiles…i suggest that the majlis members to look for the punishment that ALLAH Has Told us through ISLAM (the way of life and peace)and pass that and start executing it immediately…..

second commenter, can you please explain how “islam is the solution”??I feel that initially there might have been quite a big uproar abut the Fazeel case but now its gone from the mind of most of the people. I think that newspapers should keep bringing up the case and give frequent updates. this would keep the pressure up and keep the issue current and in the minds of everyone, and not only those who are already fighting for child rights. I just hope this case doesnt die down like most child abuse cases and the perpetrator gets forgotten….
