The Prosecutor General has expressed conern over the delays at the Criminal Court, of the sexual abuse case of daughter by Adnan Hussain. He was formerly a director at the President’s Office.
The Prosecutor General’s Office said that the case has been investigated and submitted to the Criminal Court for prosecution. PGO also said that the case was investigated and sent for prosecution on June 7th of this year. It also said that the concern over the delay has been taken up on two separate occasions with the Court.
Adnan is accused to have sexually abused the daughter of his wife’s niece. The girl’s father is reported to have told “Miadhu” that Adnan attempted to sexually abuse her from the age of 5 to 14 years. The girl is now in grade 9 of Aminiya School and she is reported to have stayed away from school because she has a teacher called Adnan.
Miadhu reports that a responsible official of the Court was not available for comment. After 13 staff of the Court were spoken to, the newpaper was informed that the judge responsible for the section overseeing the case was absent, according to Miadhu.
Adnan was taken into police custody for investigation in connection with the case on March 15th this year. He was arrested by police, after a report from his wife’s family, while trying to leave the country after the case became known to family members; Miadhu reported.

I heard from a friend of mine that he (Adnan) was roaming around the streets of Male’. Has he been released from custody??People like him, who commit such henious crimes should never be released from prison!
