Military style firearms and heavy duty ammunition were discovered Monday by a safari yacht on the coast of the uninhabited island of Gaaf Dhaal Gazeera.The island, currently under development by a subsidiary of finance minister Gasim Ibrahim’s Villa Shipping and Trade Ltd, is in the same atoll where the coast guard captured a group of Sri Lankan Tamil Tiger (LTTE) rebels in 2007. “They were very large guns on a stand, like the coast guard use,” a witness told Minivan News, adding that at least two firearms were discovered.
