Trust doesn’t grow during big events – it grows in the quiet in-between: a follow-up message, a remembered detail, a timely response, a respectful pause.

Live2Lead reinforced this: “Culture is built daily, not annually.”

I have seen this in every workplace – the small things shape the emotional climate far more than the major ones. Trust is less about heroic acts and more about consistent presence.

We were able to uplift and grow our people and performance at the Ministry of Education, AA Section – when I worked there, because for us every day was a day of belonging. We came to our workplace every day, to check in and to support each other on what we were passionate about – nation building through a better school system.

And we checked in on those who could not make to the workplace, where they were – at home or in hospital or at the celebration. Our relationships were defined by dignity and respect, above all. My biggest takeaway from those nine years is that people fly high and give their own when they feel good about themselves.

What small follow-through can close a trust gap today?
