In classrooms across the country, it felt safe because routines were steady. In hospitals, teams trusted leaders who showed up the same way every day: calm, respectful, human.

Consistency is the quiet rhythm of trust. It tells people: “You can depend on me.”

I remember in one of my former workplaces, a mentor impressed upon me the need to be in the field and to “mark the attendance” with my presence than the machine that was used to “clock-in and clock-out”. Because when you are seen and your presence is felt, teams have trust not only in leadership but themselves, and their mission to deliver.
