
Not all positivity is healing. Sometimes “just stay positive” can shut someone down.
I’ve been guilty of this. I’ve used optimism to bypass discomfort – “It’ll be fine,” “Don’t worry,” “Look on the bright side.”
But true leadership asks us to sit with what’s real, not rush past it.
I’m learning to say, “I see you. Tell me more”, before I say, “You can do this.” Because real positivity meets pain with presence, not pressure.
