As I sat in Cafe’ier today over a pistaschio – and as I scrolled through social media I thought:
When we become reactive, we stop engaging our higher faculties: reflection, empathy, curiosity. We shift from being creators of meaning to consumers of noise. In that instant, we lose the pulse that makes us human: the sacred space between stimulus and response where wisdom is born.
It’s in that space that intelligence lives. Not the kind measured by exams or data, but the quiet intelligence of awareness: of knowing what to say, when to listen, and when silence is the wiser response.
Perhaps what we need today is,
▶️ Not more speed, but more stillness.
▶️ Not more expression, but more reflection.
▶️ Not more opinions, but more understanding.
